I first stayed at the Khartoum Hilton in 1996. The decor hasn't changed since then, but it is the place to be seen.

The location, at the confluence of the two Niles, a half mile from the Palace, and just over the bridge from the Omdurman Markets, really can't be beaten.

To pay top prices in Khartoum you expect some basic things - a gym being top of the list. The whole interior of the hotels looks dated - it looks so tired and as if nothing has changed since the 60/70's. And the food - it all justs tastes the same inspite of the variety. And the rooms themselves - old carpets, blinds that are frayed, fittings ...

I do like this place because it has the most beautiful seen where the white and the blue niles meet after running thousants of miles without being tired.They fight at the junction to show their superiority over the course.Hilton hotel gives you the best sight to observe this action.TRY IT ONCE AND YOU WILL LOVE IT.

Of the top hotels in Khartoum, I found this to be most worth the money. While the entire hotel could do with a new coat of paint, the rooms are of Hilton standard, large and comfortable, offering great views (if you're on the higher floors) of the Blue and White Nile.
