We really didn't want to spend $200 to stay at the Embassy Suites. This motel is just right for the price. Close to downtown Brea (you can walk it) and nice and clean. AAA approved so we got our discount and we assured the rooms would be in good shape. Wish they had an ice machine but they do offer it on request. Looks like the rooms are fairly new too. Worth checking out.

Pleasently surprised...

This small mom'n'pop motel is perfect for getting away for a few nights. The motel looks recently remodeled and is very clean. Fridges and coffee in every room but no microwave. Although they do have them on request. They even give you free bottles of water. Worth the money, stay away from the Regency and Twin palms that surround it.

decent place but...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/02/08
it was a decent motel to stay at however the staff was somewhat rude... the rooms are decent sized and fairly clean. The fact that the microwave was in the front office was kind of rediculous seeing as how there's a mini fridge and coffee maker in every room... minor inconvenience... also slightly inconvinient that there is no ice machine on ...
Oh yes, the Hyland Motel is the best at making its guest feel uncomfortable. Instead of being inviting to the guest they are very cold and rude. Its almost like were taking from them, not actually paying for a service that they want to provide. My wife was so unhappy with how they made her feel we had to leave in the middle of our stay. Everything seemed to bother the customer service reps.

not bad for the price

It's not a chain-motel, but for a small place it's worth the price you pay. It's located near all the Brea attractions and offers a good room for those who don't want to pay for the embassy suites or the woodfin.
