I like to stay at unique hotels, so old is good, but I do not like CHEAP toilet paper, VERY THIN towels, and linens and bedspreads which had seen way too many washings. Shower head needs replacing and the heat didn't work in our room, although we were offered the chance to move at 10 at night.
Location was great for walking around downtown, ...

I could feel the coils in the mattress pressing right into my back. Unfortunately, I couldn't take a hot bath to relax after a bad nights sleep. No tub. But I could see a slit of sky out the tiny window above the window airconditioning unit while enjoying the Grandma wallpaper and head down to the rather beautiful bar to drink off the ...
After reading reviews posted on this site we thought it would be a good idea to try the St. Michael Hotel. Big mistake. The price posted on-line is not the price you pay.
The room had a bad smell and the noise level made sleeping difficult. The room was not historical - just old. The furniture was beat-up and the floor terrible uneven. ...

When we stayed at the St. Michael we certainly felt like appreciated guests but also like we were part of Prescott. The hotel feels the way I imagine life used to be in simpler more honest times. The hotel's caffe` was really excelent.
The hotel is in a great location if you plan on hitting whiskey row. We found the prices quite acceptable and the room, though it was older was very clean and cozy. The restaraunt located in the hotel serves a breakfast fit for a king. My only complaint would be that the walls are either a touch to thin, or our nieghbors were cranky ;). I loved it and can't wait to go back.

My husband & I stayed here Jan. 2005. We were excited to stay at an old place since we love antiques & come to Prescott to shop for them. It was one of the worst nights of our lives!! We had no problem with the weekend noise from downstairs. Our problem was there were several rooms around ours full of college aged kids that had an all-nighter with ...

Fantastic Ambiance, Location, Food (including fantastic free cooked to order breakfast), Price. Its a fun and friendly Arizona Historic Hotel located on "Whiskey Row" (so don't expect it to be real quiet on the weekends).

Nice stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/25/05
The hotel is conveniently located in historical downtown, a big plus. Another big plus was the cafe, which served reasonably priced and ample-sized meals that were unexpectedly delicious. There is a certain ambience to the hotel in its elevator and staircase. Keeping in mind the hotel was built about a century ago, don't expect modern-day ...

Perfect location for a good time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/05
My husband and I go there every year in October for the last of the season arts and crafts show in the court yard. It is the perfect location for parking and walking everywhere. The rooms are always sparkling and the staff is always helpful. The free breakfast is a plus. Whiskey Row is always hopping with action. When you stay at St. Michaels you ...
