Yes, really, awesome ! Dorms are correct, a little bit small I would say, but the goal is not to sleep when we are in Maui !!! Wireless works well ! The kitchen is big and well-equiped. The environment is really peaceful. I only had the hostel trip to Haleakala and it was really a nice hike ! I recommand fully this outing ! Don't hesitate if you want to have good time ! Have fun !

I went for the tours
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/19/08
I traveled to Hawaii for the first time in April. I choose Banana Bungalow for the tours as driving a rental car to Hana was not an appealing option. The tours are great however the comraderie was better. I met all ages and nationalities. I expect to stay friends with several. I am not sure I could live in Maui but am aiming to return ...

Will go back one day...

The free tours at Banana Bungalow are amazing. You cannot pay to do those types of experiences anywhere else. All the staff were super friendly and always were willing to help you out. Stay here, you will not regret it.

The Real Maui Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/14/08
I arrived at the Banana Bungalow on Friday Jan. 9th at night, with no reservations, and they had no problem providing me with accommodations. I have never stayed at a hostel before the BB and any expectations I had of hostels were completely blown away. My plan was to stay here for a couple of days then travel to other hostels to get the full ...

Like, everybody stays there dude.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/24/07
If you are looking for the scene, the place to drop your stuff and dig Maui on the cheap, a place that is very social and happening then you might be interested in the Banana Bungalow. If you are not a social beast, or get all knotted up when somebody slams a door late at night, or people are a bit noisy coming back from the bars, or you like you ...
My partner and I went here in June of 2005 and are now going to stay there again this coming January. We can't wait to go back. We wanted an inexpensive, laid back place to stay at with down-to-earth people (not rich snobby tourists). Neither of us drive, so a place that was accessable and offered free tours was a huge bonus. Our room was ...

Best Hostel in Maui
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/30/05
Okay lets get one thing straight this is not the Fairmont Kea Lani. It is how ever the best hostel for the best price on Maui. I stayed there for several months and had the best time of my life! The rooms leave something to be desired, the location is awful, but the tours and people you interact with here more then make up for it! The owner is a ...

Tours are great, curfews and location is not so great...
Everybody was friendly and helpful, except for some of the staff, after I told them I would be there for 1 1/2 weeks they still wouldn't let me pay for the whole time, so I had to get up early every morning to repay. After I got that settled, I enjoyed the tours very much and the kitchen/loung/bbq area were great. The only other thing that was ...
