Visited a few years ago and can't wait to go back. SO luxurious, yet situated in pristine rainforest--flying lemur in the trees and troops of monkeys on the beach. GO.

The Datai is easily the best hotel we have ever stayed in, it is pure and unrelentless luxury, without being overly formal.

Amazing scenery and wildlife with an amazing private beach.

The service and food are the best I have ever experienced in a hotel.

Best hotel I have ever stayed in. Really unhurried. Very fine food (including the best pizza I have had outside of Naples). Top quality nature guides. Massage to die for. Balinese dancing.

Only disappointment is the lack of snorkeling.

Of course, it is in the middle of nowhere. If you want lights, action, entertainment, go elsewhere!
