We drove from Florida on a 5 month dream vacation. We expected a room close to river, so my husband (who is a 100% disabled veteran), could use his scooter to go to river and try fishing. But instead we were sent several blocks away to a room with a big hole for a view out our window. No where to ride scooter. We are in the middle of a sand bog in ...

Avoid this place!

We never actually stayed at the 7 Gables because when we got there, the owner diverted us to another of his properties at a different location. We had reserved a two-room suite with king bed, jacuzzi, etc. What we found at the other location was something completely different - a run-down little building in an overgrown yard next to a rusted out ...

You get what you pay for

We were pleased at the low price of this *cough* B&B, but as they say, you get what you pay for! Breakfast? - go to Denny's, don't eat here! Don't go by the 'accommodation's' page on their website, you don't get what you ask for,(a "king" sized bed is just two twin beds shoved together with a crack down ...

Good value and service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/19/07
As with most places in Alaska during the summer, the cost was up from the rest of the year. However, the value received was good. The owners were very friendly and the room was more than adequate. We arrived at 1:30 am and they were there to meet and greet us. All 3 days that we stayed had different cooked breakfasts that were very good and ...

B&B in Fairbanks

February 2006- After reading the previous reviews, I was leery of staying at 7 gables, but it was too late to change our reservations. After our visit, I'm so glad we didn't. The 7 Gables Inn is in a great location on the west side of town. We stayed in the Covenant Room which was clean, cozy, and had a jacuzzi tube. The staff was ...

Not a good experience

Food very poor. Service marginal. We did not feel very welcomed. To be honest, the staff was a bit weird. I would not go back and not recommend.

Not doing too well huh?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/08/05
Boy, you guys just can't buy a break, huh? I was considering staying at the Seven Gables and looked you guys up...boy am I glad I did. The place just looks like someone's old house that you decided to turn into a hotel of some sorts? Not real impressive. And the reviews...guys you sure need some marketing work done to improve whats left of our reputation.

Check your dates carefully!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/08/05
The location was good, the food left us wanting to go somewhere else for breakfast, the place was clean but cluttered, the management totally uncaring (we signed up for Friday thru Monday; we went out Monday AM, came back after lunch and found our belongings out in the hallway. They said our reservation was TO Monday - and made no effort to help us ...

Never again

The offering for breakfast in this Bed & Breakfast is very poor. I have not stayed in many B&B, but if they are anything like this, count me out.
Do not book early. They bill your credit card at time of booking. If you cancel the reservation by e-mail, they do not automatically credit your account. It took a teltphone call and eventually another e-mail before they responded. And then they kept a $15.00 handlling fee. I cancelled 2 months in advance.
