The Omni Hotel in Los Angeles is located on California Plaza The Omni is adjacent to the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) and very near Disney Hall, the Music Center and Center Theatre Group, and Our Lady of Angels Cathedral to name just a few cultural and architectural gems.
The Omni offers excellent service in a luxurious setting from which to explore downtown LA.
Downtown near the Hotel is dead on the weekends, but close enough to the shopping districts to walk. Don't pay for the valet parking. You can pay $5 per weekend at any of the lots within a walk. Close to the Disney Opera House, Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Angels Flight(closed for renovation)

If you have to stay downtown...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/02/05
Stay at the Omni.
The Omni is small in comparison to the Westin and Marriott downtown. The service for the most part is good and you never feel like you are staying at a giant hotel. The roomservice is timely and pretty tasty although the menu tends to stay the same for too many months.

Great location in the heart of downtown LA. Helpful staff and a nice restaurant on premise.

Great Concert Location Downtown
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/07/05
How can you beat a weekend rate of $129 for a hotel of this quality? We couln't. We came to hear the LA philharmonic at Disney Hall (an experience in itself) and the Omni is a two block walk or so from Disney Hall. The valet parking people were efficient and friendly, as were the doormen and desk staff. The Omni is easy to drive to (for ...

Great Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/25/04
I had a wonderful stay. Our 8th floor corner room looked out over California Plaza with great views of the Hollywood Hills. The area seemed safe and quiet at night. The Disney Concert Hall and Music Center are just a few blocks away, with MOCA very close as well. The staff was great and very helpful, and the lobby is beautiful. Parking was $24 valet only. Overall a great hotel, and a good weekend rate. I would definitely stay here again.

Good hotel, but not worth the cost
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/30/04
We stayed at the Omni over a weekend in LA, and were not impressed with the quality especially given how much the rooms cost. The room was clean and well kept, but we were expecting some more bells and whistles. Valet parking was expensive and it always took at least 5 minutes for the attendant to get our car. There are probably better hotels to stay in downtown LA.
