Room smelled musty and was really small but appeared clean. The beds were hard and pillows flat. I did find a colony of water bugs that came to great me in the bathroom during the night! TV was tiny. We stayed there 4th of July in 2007. We got a room on the floor right by the pool which was very convienent for us with little ones with the grandkids came to swim.

Pool was very clean, quiet, and staff was very friendly.
Rooms were nice and good enough to sleep in.
We are going to go back in 2008 and great location to hit the interstate and enjoy the activities that Des Moines has to offer.
Nice Country Kitchen next door.

Don't waste you time and money.

Booked a non-smoking, ground floor room and got second story, "non-smoking" room surrounded by smoking rooms. Non-smoking meant the ashtrays had been turned upside down. The room reeked of smoke, chemicals and an unidentified odor that was unpleasant to say the least.
