We really enjoyed our stay at the Malibu Country Inn. It was definitly the best priced in Malibu and the rooms were clean. The service was great and it was such a perfect location. Just what we needed a getaway!

Wedding disaster
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/20/08
I had my wedding and reception there. THAT WAS THE WORST MISTAKE I HAVE EVER MADE. The waiters were awful, I did not get the champagne toast (which I paid for). The men's bathroom toilet was backed up!! the manager/owner was rude to my guest. She pushed my guest out by 10. DO NOT HAVE A WEDDING THERE!! You will regret it.

Rudest & most unpleasant exoperience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/13/08
My Family and I had a most unpleasant experience there at the cafe "Hideaway" with a very rude manager. When I told my friend, a Malibu local about this, she told me why would we ever go there since their kitchen has a reputation of being very unsanitary and that they constantly have a battle on their hands keeping the rodent infestation under contol. Wish we had known. NEVER go there.

lost my reservation then charged me
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/20/08
I made a reservation here months in advance. When I showed up they couldn't find my reservation, they said that people had already checked in to the room that I reserved which I later found out was untrue, and then when I got home I had been charged $620 by them anyway for not showing up! Very disappointing experience!

Rundown, dirty, overpriced motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/09/07
We paid $250 and had our hopes up for this place because of their beautiful website. Well, what a disappointment when we arrived... Poor service, and a rundown and dirty room. Definitely not recommended!
My husband and I spent our 10th anniversary weekend here. We have traveled extensively because he is in the entertainment industry. We wanted something different...not any ordinary hotel room and thats what we got. We stayed in a suite. Great, clean cozy room with a fireplace....super quiet...service was thoughtful.. We asked for extra towels ...

Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/06
The room was small for the price. Only one bar of soap for tub and sink. Hardly room to turn around. The paint was peeling and there was no top cover on the toilet seat. I would expect much more for the price. We had much better service and amenities at a Days Inn for much less. Parking is hazardous also.
When we went to check out, about 10am, someone had already checked us out and charged the room to the wrong person with no signature.

Stay away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/06
Stayed here for a wedding that was close by. Horrible customer service! My family and I stayed in different rooms, but I booked it all on my credit credit card and my husband's. They charged our credit cards BEFORE we checked out WITHOUT our signatures or us even being there. When we tried to remedy the situation, they were not helpful or ...

Wonderful Weekend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/25/06
We had a wonderful weekend at The Malibu Country Inn. We loved our walks to the beach, the staff, the breakfasts were scrumptious. Good coffee! We loved our tastefully decorated room, especially the extremely roomy jacuzzi tub.

gives malibu a bad name
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/06/05
we liked leaving this place. where does one begin - surly, unhelpful desk clerk - we checked in after 10pm - no room food, 'restaurant' (now there's a misrepresentation) closed and advice on where we could eat (we'd only just flow in from London) "there'll be something down the road." we checked out next morning and ...
