I was disappointed that we couldn't get a "king" room, apparently they don't have them? The place was nice, and it's mediocre value. It's right off the interstate. It's a good value, but there are better places to stay in the area for comparable rates.
Our room was clean and affordable, and the hotel was right off I-10. For first time guests of a red roof inn, my husband and I (along with our dog), can say that we look foward to staying here again. It is probably the nicest hotel of its class.
We stayed here in the fall of 2004, not long after the hurricane. There was no satellite TV or cable anywhere in the area, so there was none in the hotel either. Other than that it was a very nice 3 day stay. Very friendly and accomodating even though they were 100% booked. Much nicer than many hotels in this calss.
We checked in at 3:00 pm and went to our room. There was trash in the trash can and a coke can sitting on the bedside table. No towels or washcloths. The room had not been serviced. After getting all that taken care of and we unpacked,it was quite warm in the room and we tried to turn on the air conditioner but the unit wouldn't put out ...
