We specifically asked for a room with 2 beds, but when we got to our room it only had one bed, and they didn't have any other rooms available so I had to sleep on the floor. The nasty, dirty, brown-stained, moldy, moist floor.
One bathroom on our floor was 'out of order', forcing about 20 rooms to share one bathroom. There was no hot ...
First of all - 107th is not Upper Westside. It's not even close!! This area is Morningside Heights. While it is not a really dangerous area of Manhattan, this hotel still misrepresents the location information. Everything here was awful. The people (if they can be called) that that live there and the conditions (filthy!!). Don't stay here!

Poor quality, poor staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/13/08
What would I dislike about the hotel? Everything!!!
From the first day, there was trouble with our reservation. We got a very poor small room, while we booked a large room for two persons. The bathroom was broken, etc. Further, the staff was not co-operate at all. The last two days of our stay, our room was not cleaned at all. We got dirty towels etc.
Conclusion: Do not stay in this hotel!

Coincidentally, I stayed in the same room another reviewer stayed in (RM 604) and can confirm that there were no batteries in the smoke detector and the door chain effortlessly pulled out of the wall. The room was very much so-so. It wasn't posh, but it wasn't necessarily disgusting either. A water pipe ran right down one corner of the ...

The worst hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/02/07
The worst hotel I've ever seen: shabby, the staff is totally unreliable and incompetent !!! Even though our room (with private bath) was confirmed by the owner himself, we were given another room (with shared bath) for the night. The next day we were supposed to move to our booked room and stored our luggage in the storage room. When we ...

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/07
Don't go there. The manager is very rude and disrespectful who doesn't care about his customers. After the first night we complained about the condition of our room that sheets were not cleaned, bathrooms are horrible and rooms smells really bad. In answer manager start cussing for five minutes with F words. We decided to leave the hotel ...

I stayed at the Morningside Inn for 3 months. At the very first view the Inn looked pretty well located. I paid $ 750 a month which seemed also quite okay. The problems which arised were 1. don't trust the manager called Patrick - he pissed me off by charging me more at the end which happened not the first time as I can read from other ...

Bugs, Mold, Dirt, Galore
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/07/06
This hotel has a SERIOUS Bed Bug issue and does not handle the situations that arise properly. Mold has been growing in numerous rooms as well as bathrooms from what I've heard from various tenants. I met a group of students staying there who have had multiple problems and have constantly have been having to deal with them. And, lastly, ...

best deal in the city, great!

Recently we spent our honeymoon in New York, and to save money we decided on staying at the Morningside Inn. It turned out to be a perfect choice! For € 73 ($85, I think) we got a room with AC, TV, our own bathroom, a fridge. The room was cleaned every day and Patrick at the reception was alwys helpful and fun. Of course one has to mention that the ...
