After a week at a Scottsdale, AZ resort my husband and I wanted to see the Grand Canyon. So we left the resort early and hesitantly booked a room at the Cameron Trading Post; not knowing what to expect. This was a better place and a better time had by both my husband and me than the entire week at the "resort". The rooms were very ...
Very convienent to the Grand Canyon. Given a room that was spacious, but air conditioning was deafening! And very far from the designated "dog walk area", which is right next to the highway and full of trash. This is a "destination" nothing else around for miles. I should have continued on to Flagstaff.
As part of our Grand Canyon vacation I booked the Cameron Trading Post because it was close enough to do both rims. I AM SO GLAD WE CAME HERE! It is clean and the rooms are HUGE. The beds are comfortable, towels fresh, and the AC is quiet. When I say we, it includes two adults and an 11 year old boy. The motel more than meets all of our ...
This hotel is terrible. Do not waste your time going here spend the extra money and stay at one of the hotels next to the Grand Canyon. The showers are awful the water simply trickles out. We where suppose to have a garden view but instead where moved because they had a bus come in. This was after we had showed them paperwork where we made ...
After spending the day at the Grand Canyon, and planning to just drift back home to Colorado after a Christmas stay in Tucson, we stopped for fuel at The Cameron Trading Post. After a quick look at the gift shop and resturant we decided we might like to spend our New Years Eve here. One look at the room and we were definetly going to stay, the ...
We had an online confirmation for a room on September 25, 2008. When we arrived to register we were told by the clerk that there was no room available. We were informed the reservation had not been entered in your system so the room had already been rented. I do not know if this was factual or not.
Pros: - Beautiful surrounding landscapes; peaceful and quiet with wide open Arizona skies. - Really cool gift shop with tons of unique and great stuff - Good restaurant food, homemade quality.
Cons: - Er, well, the water's yellow. I bathed in it but was afraid to drink it. - It was a nonsmoking room but there was still a ...
We loved it! I am returning in june 2008. Very friendly , native american owned. Outdoor fireplaces to gather with other visitors in a coutyard setting steps from your room door. Very clean newer southwest themed rooms. Beautiful! Wonderful food. The Navajo taco is huge! Its made with Navajo sweet flatbread... just mouthwatering.
WHEN YOU ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE,LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO STAY, IT WAS A GOD SEND.A GENTLEMAN IN A FLAGSTAFF CONVENIENCE STORE TOLD ME ABOUT THIS PLACE. WE DROVE QUITE A WAYS, ALMOST DECIDED TO TURN AROUND AND GO BACK, BUT 1 MORE MILE FROM RTE64 WE FOUND THIS WONDERFUL PLACE. THEY EVEN HAVE THEIR OWN ART GALLERY!!!WE ENDED UP STAYING 2 NIGHTS!!!!WILL VISIT AGAIN SOME DAY FOR SURE. FOOD, SERVICE EVERYTHING WAS A-1
What an interesting place. We were so happy to finally get there after our long day of driving. The room was immaculate, the restaurant was great (the helpings were huge!), and the grounds were beautiful. I would recommend staying here if you are traveling to the Grand Canyon, especially since its the only thing for miles........
