The room was absolutely fabulous! The layout was sheer luxury and the bed's linens with the down pillows and comforter were heaven. Room service was prompt and our food delicious. I look forward to my next visit. Even the hotel gift shop was fabulous, the toniest around!
The rooms are the best in the city, location is wonderful, and the bar is fun. We never wanted to leave. Everyone was so nice and willing to make us feel right at home.
First of all - you can bring your DOG!!! I love the architecture and the classic design in the lobby (the Bourse lounge), the rooms and the banquet spaces. The staff were very generous and accomodating and great at recommending other restaurants to try.
We are residents of Philadelphia and live in a luxury high-rise building. Our building water had to be shut down for an emergency fix overnight so we needed to stay away from home.
We chose the Sofitel with no previous knowledge or experience with the chain.
The service was friendly and efficient. The room was spectacular. Very clean and ...

I will never stay anywhere else

I absolutely love the Sofitel Philadelphia. I stayed there Sept 9-Sept 11 2005. I was amazed by the uniqueness of this hotel. The ammenities at the hotel were more than I could of ever imagined. The bed is to die for and the bathroom is decorated very nicely. Others hotels could learn alot from this establishement. When in Philadelphia I will stay no place but at the Sofitel Philadelphia
The only problem I had with the hotel was the fire alarm at 230 and 430 in the morning. We were required to get out of bed and evacuate the hotel - both times it was a false alarm. The hotel did not offer any compensation for the interruption of a night's sleep.
The only other drawback is the location - it is in the heart of Center City, ...
Everything was exceptional - the service, the room, the location. The ladies at the front desk were very well dressed, well spoken, and courteous. The room itself was beautiful - very spacious, clean, and orderly. The bed was dreamy with plush bedding. We just loved our overnight getaway.
Location, Location, Location...near everything in Center City. Near the core of downtown, Walnut Street shopping is a block away, within a couple of blocks of lots of great restaurants (try Alma De Cuba or Susanna Foo), a block to one of the greatest parks in the country ( Rittenhouse Square)...the hotel is well staffed, clean, and service oriented.
One of the very best surprises I found in Philly was the Sofitel Philadelphia. This hotel is pure European elegance in the heart of the city. From the moment I walked into the lobby, it was as though I had entered a different world...a world which only became more lovely after a fast, efficient and courteous check-in procedure.
As a business ...

Clean room, good location, nice staff

I am fussy about the cleanliness of where I stay. I had no complaints here. The staff were professional and helpful. The location of the hotel is in the French Quarter. I walk everywhere, and I found it convenient to where I wanted to go.
