A great space in Minneapolis with great art and lots to see and do. A must see for any visitor. Plan on spending enough time to see everything!

Great Outdoor Fun
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
This is a great place to get a little sun while partaking in a cultural experience. The sculpture garden is free to enter, though if you want to park where it is convenient, then you might have to dish out a chunk of change. My advice is to park a few blocks away in the residence area and walk in, since you are going to be walking around the park ...

Great Outdoors, Great Art!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
I enjoy this place so much because it's free, you get to be outside, and you get a chance to view some of the best art! There is also a great view of Minneapolis from the garden and it's a simple walk over a bridge to Loring Park. If you enjoy the sculpture garden so much, then make your way into the Walker Art Center. It's worth the money and very interesting. (You may even want to take in a play at the Gutherie.)
The garden is serene and pleasant enough, but frankly, the art is a big bore. The spoon cherry is still the most interesting thing there. The space would better be used as a playground or beer garden.

Art is a great conversational piece
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/23/05
I would recommend the gardens to anyone. Great for date night. While the garden set in downtown Minneapolis, it feels like a world away. It's fun to interpret the sculptures from your own view and discuss them with someone else. Not only suitable for a daytime venture, at night you'll practically have the place to yourself. It is beautiful ...
If you're there at the right time (spring-fall on a less-humid day) this can be a completely lovely experience. It's a calm retreat in the middle of a busy city, and has a wide variety of sculpture to enjoy. Oh, and it's free. You can't beat that!
