We spent three nights here in January 2008. The location and buildings are excellent. However, the service we received was poor. In particular:

1. We were put in a very noisy room overlooking the main road.

2. The shower hose sprung a leak and, despite reporting it twice, nothing was done. As I result, we could not use the shower.

3. We spent time and energy chasing missing items such as a pillow case, bathrobes and bottled water.

A well equiped Hotel in a unique location it is set in a desert location at the lowest point on earth. Service levels strugle to meet a 5 star staus with staff friendly but a little slow.
Our room was in the main Zara building it was of a good size well equiped and very clean.

I expect a 5 Star hotel to BE a 5 star hotel and am willing to pay for a 5 Star experience. I am NOT willing to pay 5 star prices for at best a 3 star experience - which is what the Movenpick is.

You can be a lone if you want, and you can have lot of friends around if you like.
You can choose to be left alone ore to discuse with all around you.

Our room in the main block was actually dirty and we suspected the bedlinen had not been changed. The view from the window has been badly obstructed by a huge new hotel that is currently under construction. I visited there two years ago, it was one of the nicest hotels that I have ever stayed in. The staff was very nice and friendly, they were always washing our rental car so that when we wanted to drive somewhere the dust wasn't all over it, which was a nice touch. the food, the location, the service was fast and easy, the cleanless of the rooms and bathrooms. i had fun time at night in the sauq walking by the seashore.
The thing i wasn't comfortable is the heat it was very hot.

I stayed there at the moevenpick hotel and I couldn't have been more pleased it was probably one of the best hotels I went to. I can't wait ot go back!!!
