what is happening to the atlantic ocean off the jersey shore? Yesterday, at Island Beach State Park Park, the stench from the water was palpable on our towels and clothes and my dog's fur was coated with jellyfish particles that were next to impossible to remove without cutting. The dried wash from a previous tide could be lifted from the ...

Hidden gem of New jersey
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/16/08
If you love nature, this is where you should be. We love the fact that there is a special beach area that's dog friendly. Overall, the rules are simple and easy to follow. One important thing to do before you get there it's make sure to take enough food, it could be annoying to take a car ride to the nearest food stand.

Worth the Trip From Staten Island
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/06/07
We've been to Island Beach about 5 times this summer. The grandkids absolutely love it. Clean, Clean, Clean plus you're able to take showers at the end of the day. The natural beauty is awesome. The flies can be a problem at certain times so bring plenty of repellant just in case.

Beach is beautifull. Indoor shower is available(that's so nice!)
Only problem was there are so many (I mean so many)bugs in beach and everywhere. I guess that's the nature should be.. Don't forget bring the bug spray.

Priceless...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/26/07
I was raised in NJ. My family would always go to other public beaches...I feel cheated that it took me 30 years to find Island Beach. One day someone suggested we try it since we had small children. AWESOME!!! is the one word to describe this out of the fantasy books beach... You get there early park your car walk no more then 200 feet and you ...
Love the beaches you can drive right on with your truck or jeep. The only thing is you have to watch for flies they will bite and when there is alot you are in trouble it all depends how the wind blows.
