The Hotel is under minor construction, it is located in a difficult location with a car lot close by, however there is an on going effort to improve the Hotel. WOW! This Howard Johnson has really improved! The staff was very nice and eager to help with places to go and things to do in the area. The room was very large and roomy. The restaurant next door was also very tastey. I liked that it was quiet but we were still very close to downtown davis. We will be returning!

Noticed when checking in that the hotel blueprints for a remodel, which is desparately needed as paint was chipped in bathroom and fixtures in room were dated, plus bed had a slope to it. Also, the breakfast was lousy as there was no fruit or cereal, just a packaged ham and cheese breakfast sandwhich, packaged cinimamon rolls and muffins. Did enjoy free wi-fi.

The room was clean. The sheets and towels were poor quality. There is no jacuzzi located by the swimming pool as shown in the photo. We were told that we could use the jacuzzi in the health club for a $7 fee per person. Also, there is NO full complimentary HOT breakfast. Breakfast consisted of a packaged cinnamon roll, orange juice and coffee.

The staff was very friendly and eager to assist me with directions and getting me anything I needed.The fact that they have free Wireless was great. The rooms are always in great condition. It was also great that they have such a big fitness center free of charge! A great value with so much to offer!!

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, quiet at night. I was there a week with no problems. The hotel back up to quiet neighborhood but it's near new car dealerships so there is some day time noise.
My concern is with the security and grounds.

My Husband & 2 children stayed at this Howard Johnson,Davis a weekend ago, we had a wonderful stay, staff were very polite, great with our children,
rooms very pleasant, & clean. Great Fitness Center on location.
Close to freeways, and UC Davis.
Will return to this hotel on our next visit to Davis.
