  • 2 star "resort" AT BEST
    By -, 12/23/09
I have been to Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun and thought that the Turning Stone would be comparable. ITS NOT.

Here are their similarities: 1. You can gamble. 2. All owned by Indians (which all casinos in the US outside of Vegas are). 3. You can smoke inside. Other than that, they are polar opposites.

Turning Stone reminds me of what a ...

  • Classless Hotel, Bellman barged in on wife Naked!
    By Ryan, 09/24/09
Worst staff of all time, stay home.
My wife Nicole was changing by the closet (& front door) while I was in
the shower. One of your bellman came up to deliver the care gift bag
from the bride/groom, but instead of knocking on the door, barged his
way in to my wife naked. The bellman did not apologize, or even turn
    away, & I don't ...

  • My Wedding-Not an affair to remember
    By sania, 07/27/09
My experience as the Bride was an affair not to be remembered. Staff was unfriendly and poorly trained from the spa to the banquet staff. Where do I begin: I was given the okay to check my banquet room the night before the event to make sure all was in order, I had left charts for the sales team to make sure guests, place cards, favors and ...

  • Good, but not so great...
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/09
When it comes down to it, Turning Stone can be a good place for a romantic dinner, private business meetings or small conventions with utmost service. On the other hand, it is a casino where people either win some or lose some, but depends on where you're at in this "city within a city." Focusing more on the food service, the fine ...

  • Giving thanks
    By David, 11/29/08
I had not stayed at the Turning Stone in more than ten years. I am a table player and not a high roller. Still, I received an offer for a free room at the Tower. I am on a dating site and had messaged a woman from the Albany area about someday meeting at the casino. The members of my family that always hosted the family gatherings have passed away. ...

  • Strictly for the gambling
    By DrDC, 08/20/08
It's a very nice and clean hotel, but everything is centered around getting you into the casino. All paths lead through the casino, no matter where you're going. There's not much to do except eat and gamble, and there's certainly nowhere to go in the vicinity! Very few TV channels, small gym (that costs $10 per visit!!) and no ...

  • Absolutely Love it!!!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/07
We go every year and just love the way we feel upon pulling up and having the vallet parking available. You walk in the door of the place and enter into a whole new world of relaxation, renewal, and peace. The indoor trees, fountains, waterfalls, and gardens are spectacular! The kids just love the echo room.

It's true that there is not ...

I just love coming to the Casino. I wish I could attend more often. I have stay at the Lodge, Hotel, Towers and Inn. I have only good memories from them all. We have also stayed at the Villages during the summer with our motorhome. Again, just wonderful.. It's my home away from home.. I always tell people I have to go to the STONE for a ...

  • BORING!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/07
This resort is the most boring place on the planet. No liquor in the casino due to no license (what is that about??) And if your under 90 yrs of age you will be largely outnumbered. Casino machines were horrible - very dated. Staff was rude as well. Food was horrible and overpriced at Emeralds (also bad service). And bring your walking shoes - ...
