I usually stay at luxury hotels. Here in Napa, I choose to stay at the local Inns for a couple of reasons. At the inns, it's easier to become immersed in the local flavor of Napa and to take advantage of a true insider's perspective when setting up your itinerary.

When you walk into 1801 First it is absolutely beautiful. I loved the columns and the little touches in the rooms. The beds were very comfortable and my husband and I had an inroom massage that was to die for. They had an onsite chef that treated us with food that was enough to get us going back year after year. My husband and I just returned from a 3 night stay at 1801. From the moment we entered this lovely victorian home we were treated as special guests.
