I've stayed here 3 times, with a company discount, and it's nowhere near the comfort or value that hotels in Karaganda or Bishkek offer. The staff always seems confused and arrogant, there was a group of indiscreet prostitutes with Kazakh businessmen in the lobby restaurant, and the rooms feel crammed and less than basic. I did, however, enjoy the breakfast and the salon services. The facial by Olga was great, as was the pedicure.

I stayed here for 4 days in April of 2006 and the hotel was safe, the staff was friendly and it was a much better value than the Hyatt ($130 vs $700).

Excellent value for money in a quiet location ideally situated for the businessman. A good 4* Kazak but western-style managed hotel an much better than the Dostyk/ Otrar/ Aiser Hotels etc.
