We went to the SoHo Grand Hotel Lounge for drinks last night. We had a reservation for a table/couch sitting for about 8 of us. We were having a good time until right before we were about to get our bill the hostess reprimanded me for sitting on my husbands knee. The table area was crowded and I didn't have a seat so I sat with my husband ...

Location was very good and it was clean, but it was over-priced and pretentious. The rooms were adequate in size, but nothing more.
At best, this is a middle of the road hotel but with an attitude.

Love this hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/04/07
My daughter and I went alone to New York. The bellhops, concierge, front desk, room service - all went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. I have stayed in many hotels in New York and this is the one we will be coming back to. The business center is excellent also for all you business travelers. I brought my two year old and everyone was extremely gracious with him also. P.S. love the tiny coke bottles in the room.

Misleading event

We were guests at the Soho Grand Hotel for New Year's Eve and attended their Black and White Party. First, not everyone is dressed in black and white which they say they require. Second, not everyone is dressed in formal attire which they also say they require. Third, they will ask you to pay extra for reserved seating but they have none. ...

Lobby better than the rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/28/07
When you enter the hotel and head up to the main lobby (located on the second floor) you think wow this place is chic. The deco is modern (think West Elm and Crate and Barrel's love child). The room however was a bit disappointing. The size of it reminded me of my one time staying at a Holiday Inn (NEVER AGAIN). The bathroom was nice and ...
Staff are somewhat stupid. Computer system didn't even have my name in it when arrive. The room are too small for the price I paid.

Rude Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/20/06
At the rates that the Soho Grand charges no one should ever have a rude or condensing tone. Especially when you are just checking in or asking to get your folio.
