Very UnhappyI heard all kinds of great things about this place and at first it all looked great. At closer inspection I realized just how neglected the building really was. Now I know why they keep it so dark inside. I felt so bad for the wait staff in the place seeing that the tips were going straight to the manager, this seemed to create unhappy wait ...0 of 1 Yahoo! Restaurant Service is a ProblemMy husband and I have attended two comedy night shows at Governor's Inn. Both times the comedy was worth the ticket cost. The food (pub fare) was what I expected, but not overly impressive. The service was not great the first show, and horrendous the second time. 1st and LAST time....for food anyway!We went to comedy night last night and can say other than a cute little stage setup and 3 good comedians we where far from impressed.
We went with another couple and orderd our food at the exact same time. The other couple ordered an appetizer in which they clearly stipulated that they wanted before there meal.

Nothing to write home about...I had thought this would be a wonderful experience. First of all, I think atmosphere when I walk into a special venue, and I also think cleanliness. This place was in a terrible need of a dusting! My word, I have never seen so much dust and filth in a restaurant establishment before. Take me to the MaratanaI found the menu selection to be mediocre at best. They appear to offer a level of quality and service comporable to those in the largers cities but the truth is they do not compair. For Rochester NH, they are wonderful compaired to elsewhere, well you decideOVERALL

The atmostphere caters towards the well dressed and it isn't unusual to find many couples or families wearing there "Sunday Best". Full of classic charm and top quality food & serviceThe Governor's Inn is truly an establishment offering an abundance of charm as in an era gone by. Anothony Ejarque does a top notch job with managing the Inn and restaurant while ensuring an array of offerings, both local and with an international flavor, appear on the menu.
