The Old Bell is ideally situated for driving to Lincoln, York and Nottingham. It is in a tiny hamlet with no shops and one great little pub. Nearby Retford has supermarket and station. The Hotel is creaky and old but public areas have been recently refurbished. The service is OK but the dining experience can be mixed in the rather tired dining room.

The place has a rather nice eccentric air and is reasonable value as a base for touring.
