Though my room, in the old building, was a bit small, it was exquisitely furnished and the bathroom, with all its marble, was elegant.
Aside from its location on Copacabana, the hotel offers two other advantages: (1) a near-Olympic sized pool and (2) two superb restaurants, one for breakfast and informal dining, the other for outstanding ...

Colonial style, 5 star hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 05/26/07
You'd have to try very hard to find a better place to stay in Rio
Great food, great service, spectacular views, this is where Princess Diana and Prince Charles used to stay, Pres Clinton, Mick Jagger, you name it It is expensive, but worth
I wouldn't recommend the beach on that spot of Copacabana, but everything else , yes

Past glamour in a declining place
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 01/26/07
Although the hotel's style is outdated and refers to the glamour pre-WW II palaces, it surely has wealthy charm, nice smiling service and an acceptable value-for-money ratio when you like luxury and have chosen to stay in Rio at Copacabana beach. But... and this is the real problem, Rio looks nice from above or when you appreciate distant ...

Maybe best hotel I've ever stayed in
By Chip, 01/16/07
Start with a magnificent location on the beach at Copacabana. Hotel gracefully combines the best of a modern hotel with a 1920s vintage "grande dame." Ah Rio

Nice pool, large nice rooms, good food. As with other hotels along Copacabana walking outside at night can be an experience. Not for the faint of heart.
One of the better hotels to stay at during a visit

Best Hotel in Rio!!!
By Big Daddy, 08/24/06
If you ever think about going to Rio, this hotel will set if off for you. The Copacabana Palace is truly one of a kind. The exquisite service, quality, and friendliness of the people are phenomenal. The hotel is rated one of the most popular, and best in Rio. Each time that I was serviced by the front desk, they knew my name without me even saying anything

By A Yahoo! Contributer, 06/05/06
The single down side to this hotel is the price. If you can afford it, then this is the only place you should consider staying in Rio. The staff was friendly and helpfull at all times. The beach is amazing and their beach staff regularly came around with water etc. I stayed there for two weeks and enjoyed every min i was in the hotel. If you ...
