We stayed at Holiday Village Golden Beach, which is what the Jack Tar is now called, in February 2007 and loved it so much we are returning on February 19, 2008. The beach is wonderful, the water was warm and sandy (no rocks), the food was great and the beer was cold. What a great vacation - I highly recommend the adults only option for people travelling without children.

i hated when i past one night at that hotels. its very depressing. that service was bad. the employees at the resturant from very ignorive to us. all the materials from the hotel was unclean and damage. there no light at the rooms. the smell was very unwelcome. the pool was very dirty and rust. there no remote control for the television. the rooms ;look like motels for dating. i highly recommend you for not to enter into that bad hotel.

This hotel was very firendly and the location was excellent. First thoughts on arrival was that it needed updating but the service and food made up for this.

I've stayed at this hotel on my first visit to the Dominican Republic. This place is huge. The grounds are so big, I even went bicycle riding one evening. The food was delicious and the place is very clean. Staff is friendly and go out their way to make you feel comfortable. Not many single, so I recommend this place for families or people who are looking to have a relaxing vacation.

We paid for a deluxe/superior room and it was superior to a mud hut only. The bed cover had a huge hole from a burn/iron and it was not changed for the whole two weeks. The noise level from the DJ is unreasonable and felt like Blackpool with heat. Every night listening to the 'Birdy Song' at the sme time is painful. The location might be 4 star but the accomodation most certainly is not. This resort is not tired it is exhausted!
