worth the moneyThe thing we liked about the hotel is that its really close to the beach. There was no need for us to park far away and walk to the beach. The Sheraton hotel has instant beach access. The thing that we dislike was the fact that the hotel has no complementary breakfast ...but thats not a big deal for some people. I will definetely go back to ...4 of 4 Yahoo! Not quite worth it...We spent this weekend at the Sheraton South Padre and I was really unimpressed. We got a decent deal on the rate: $199 per night (we stayed for 2 nights). The room was comfortable, especially the bed. I personally liked the tiled floors as opposed to the tacky carpeting they normally have in hotels. Horrible ServiceWe have stayed here over the last 15 years. Our last trip this August 2007 we were very disappointed in the appearance of the room and the overall service of the hotel. (We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo unit) The service was horrible. Only the bellcaps were helplful. When I called to make sure our room was reserved for "late arrival" ...4 of 4 Yahoo! Do not stay hereMy family and I were guest from July 16 2007 till July 19 2007. Where do I start with the complaints. First the construction of the condos next to the hotel. I did read about the construction on the website and it says From March 11, 2007 to August 31, 2008, a condominium project is under development to the southwest of our hotel. what great serviceI called in advance of my family vacation / business training trip to ask about the construction going on near and about the hotel. Wonderful!After weeks of worry due to reading awful reviews concerning service and construction around the hotel, our trip to the Sheraton was wonderful. When reserving a room, make sure that you insist on one facing the water or the pool. Do not plan on switching hotels...the staff and hotel was absolutely the best!2 of 3 Yahoo! Best on the IslandThe service was good, the location was the best. We went for July 4th, and it was the best place to be to watch the fireworks. It has a nice swimming pool with a swim-up bar and hot tub. There were many kids in the hot tub despite the "under 16 not allowed" rule! Surprisingly, the prices for the drinks were not outrageous. Read this prior to booking - this DumpWhat a horror, for work I stay in hotels all over the country and due to that not to be snobby but I am used to a 4-star quality hotel. I am elite level with Starwood so they usually treat me right.

poor hotelthe hotel was old and dirty. They are doing remodeling. Biggest complaint was rhet gave my room to some one else and we got a room with plastic over patio etc.
they did not checkk the other persons ID, my room was pd. for they charged me agsin and I had to argue to get them to take the charge off NOW not 2-3 days. They also had given a birthday cake and champagne to him that ws for us3 of 3 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulOVERALL
