HealthTexas Medical Group held their family retreat at the Ranch. The doctors went to their meeting and the wives and children had a wonderful time. We took dancing lessons, rode horses, went fishing, played games, bingo, and the list goes on. The Cowboy Breakfast is a must. Our room was comfortable and the grilled steaks for dinner were better that ...

We loved the ranch. What a great family vacation. The Hicks family is just amazing and the resort is sooo much fun. Remember to pack your jeans for all of the horseback riding.

Our family has been coming here for the last 15 years. For two of those 15 year we lived 25 minutes away and still "packed up and went on vacation" at the Mayan.
The family that runs the ranch is what makes it. a horse is a horse and bar-b-que is just that... but the food and offering is outstanding, great for families with small ...

Little bit of heaven in the Heart of Texas
By Billie R, 11/26/07
We stayed here primarily because of the inclusive riding package. The horses are all very highly trained and supervised at all times by at least two wranglers. The swimming pool was very welcoming having ample sun beds to relax on and a cool waterfall. Adjacent to the swimming pool are toilet facilities, tables, chairs and a laundry.
The food ...

have sent 20 familes there

What is not to love? Great people, great food, and great activities. How else can Europeans come and stay for two weeks and see nothing else of the US, and have some stay and work. I have sent several friends and patients there and all have gone back. With all the options available today, why return unless satisfied.

We had an wonderful time with our 4 children ranging from 5 thru 12. This place is so relaxing with every need met and lots of activities available in a safe country setting. The ranch is run by the Hicks family so personal ownership is taken by each employee at the ranch. I just returned from Walt Disney World and wish I had enough left for a ...

My husband and I were on a Business trip (Kilgore College, Kilgore, TX) and it was our anniversary week. The staff and the family of this wonderful place were so nice to us. We danced, rode horses, walked around taking pictures, (which I have displayed of the barn and the roosters). Your girls were so cute and darling. My husband fell in love ...

Spectacular

I went with a friend, two single Yankee women in their 20s, just for a lark. We had a SPECTACULAR time. It was mostly young families but the guests included us and made us feel welcome. And of course the Hicks family couldn't be more wonderful.
Little tricky to get to without a car (and I sort-of hate to rent to let it sit in one place for a week). Otherwise perfect.
