The Good: We had easy access to the walking path along the Willamette River and across the parking lot from the Valley River Center. The employees were relatively responsive to any requests we made.
THE BAD: Almost everything else. The hotel is horribly dated (sixties/seventies); it doesn't appear to have been updated in any way since then ...
6/15/2008 - This is a perfectly lovely hotel, spacious rooms furnished beautifully, superb meals, overlooking a river lushly fringed with green. Best of all are the people who work there. They bend over backwards to give you whatever you need with enthusiasm. We hated to leave. Highly recommended. It is more likely that those old negative reviews were more a comment on the reviewers than the reviewed.

the reception staff & restraunt were great, the room however was outdated, the entrances were not clear and not lit well, the maids start their cleaning at the crack of dawn so don't plan on relaxing!

We stayed here based on the information on the website. The smell walking from the entrance to our room was unbearable. We were to stay 2 nights and checked out after the first night. Had to park away from the hotel and did not feel that safe walking to our room at night. The patio furniture was all a miss match. Not a first class place by ...
I chose this hotel based upon photos and descriptions from the hotel's website. When booking the hotel, I was assured a private balcony or patio with a view. Well, the photos on the website are very misleading. the hotel is rundown, the carpet is old and smelly, and our room had no private balcony or patio. It had a window that overlooked a ...

I have stayed twice at Valley River Inn and have had a great experience both times. The location is nice, right on the river and the amenities are very good. The food in the reseraunt is a bit pricey for me , but there are many places to eat within walking distance. The staff is courteous and friendly, going out of thier way to help out.
Never Ever miss Sunday brunch!!! Shame on you If you dont take your wife, lover or girlfriend here.

I paid $109/night for a deluxe, two queen bed room. For that $109 there was a TV but no DVD player or VCR and the in room pay-per-view movies were $10-$15 each. You also have to pay for local phone calls. The hotel has a pool but it is outdoors and not heated. In Eugene there are maybe two months of the year where you could use an outdoor, unheated ...
Great restaurant with reasonable prices, great location across the parking lot from the best mall in the area. Excellent service in every way, especially for my elderly parents. Room was spacious and well equipped.
