My husband and I just got back from our stay at Salishan, for our second wedding anniversary. I had heard mixed reviews, but I am pleased to say that we love it. Our room had vaulted ceilings and a balcony overlooking the bay. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable (which is usually a big complaint for me), and I felt that the staff was very ...
We've stayed at the Salishan three times in the past three years. The first was during our Honeymoon then again in 2007 and 2008. Our first visit I would have rated this a 5 star, our visit in 2007 a 4 star, and more recently a 3 star. In short, service is getting worse in all aspects and and less attention is being paid to the facilities ...

Loved our stay at Salishan!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/10/08
This incredible resort has left the natural beauty around it. There are covered paths and walkways to just about every building. The trees and natural wood buildings make them blend into the environment. Friendly staff greeted us in the lobby with a fire burning gently in the majestic stone fireplace. Our room was not one of the highest ...

Natural Selection
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/26/08
The Salishan Lodge at Gleneden Beach is one of the most beautiful vistas in the Northwest. The architecture timeless and infinitely mindful of it's natural setting. One feels they'd journeyed far and long for the effect of solitude, wrapped in distant sounds of the sea and wildlife, create immediacy of moments passing- slowly. Romantic ...
Our stay started out with them telling us that they had only a King room for our family. My first though was good thing that scout training teaches the kids to travel with sleeping bags. We managed to get a roll-away in the hot stuffy room and last through the first night. The Pond building that our room was in manages to catch all the Highway ...

Rip-Off
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/07/07
What a rip-off. The room was filthy -- the staff obviously wanted to be somewhere else doing something else. The price was outrageous -- you would think that they could afford good mattresses and at least halfway decent carpet and furnishings. There was no attempt to make my stay more pleasant. I checked out after one night -- upset that I didn't check out sooner.
My husband and I stayed at Salishan two nights on our western vacation. We could find NOTHING to complain about. It was like we were visiting friends who wanted us to have the greatest time! I have recommended this place to friends who were visiting. I never stayed anywhere so beautiful, friendly, clean, and peaceful as the Salishan Lodge.

Kids loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/28/05
We stayed there three years ago, and our kids thought it was paradise (pool, mini-golf, tennis etc). Golf course and driving range nearby. The food was first class, and I was particularly impressed by the kids menu (kids eat free under 12). This is no "chicken nuggets" place, meals were tasty, nutritious, and they had a choice of fruit, ...

Awful, do not go there.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/31/05
I did stay at this resort and had the worst experience ever it does not worse the money. Their customer service is really poor. We book it on line with early check in, than called and them and remind them that we need early check in and we needed to make sure, so on the phone they said that it wouldn’t be a problem. We came there at noon, our room ...
