Everyone was nice to us the moment we walked in. The atmosphere, the rooms, and the beds were great. I loved the cat and everything tihs hotel had to offer.
Algonquin hotel NY has one of the greatest cafes in NY. This is the hotel where writers and publishers used to gather.

THE BEST IN NYC
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/21/05
My niece and I just returned from NYC. We were a bit apprehensive coming from the deep south but the Algonquin Hotel especially the bellman/doorman and other staff members made us feel so welcomed and so safe in a city that is so BIG. This hotel is just beautiful. Our beds were pillowtop matresses so when you lay down at night you were quickly ...
My husband and I stayed in the Algonquin in April, 2004. We found the room rather small, but we weren't planning to spend a lot of time there, so that was fine. Otherwise the hotel was very nice and the people there very friendly. It still has the atmosphere, I thought, of old New York, and it just a short walk to the hustle and bustle of Times Square.

I especially enjoyed coffee and refreshments in the sitting room with the old victorian couches. If I closed my eyes I felt like I was experiencing another era.
Warm helpful staff surprised us when we asked where we could go to get a packing carton as we had "overshopped" and were leaving early the next morning. We were told they would get back to us and about 10 minutes later there was a knock on our door and a carton and strapping tape dispenser were handed over to us!To top it off we were ...

The broadway theme carried into our one bedroom suite that were nicely decorated. My wife and I stayed for one night between Christmas and New ...

Businessman's Respite
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/18/04
Clean, newly-renovated and they remember you. Reasonably priced place for a businessman to stay while in town, right around the corner from nightlife when you're done working.
