I went to Tan-Tar-A for a conference. The rooms were musty smelling and the hallways in our building were very dark. The food was horrible, and that is a big understatement. The staff was mostly grouchy and unable or unwilling to help. The extras were very overpriced. $17.50 for the waterpark!? I will not be back.

Had a great time there. Stayed in a 3 unit condo type building and it was fantastic. You don't need your car and they have tons of stuff to do.

Be sure if you ask for a balcony ... you make sure you have some sort of view. Ours was the back of another building and a garage that received deliveries at 5:30 a.m. daily which woke us up. The building we stayed in smelled musty, had no elevator. We had to run the fan on "high" to have constant noise to drown out the outdoor noise ...

The title of this review says it all. Perhaps in its day this place was nice but now it just seems like a step back in time. Needs a complete overhall rooms, pool, and staff. Also, not close to anything. Definately would not stay again.

We would go back if there is stuff for teens to do everything close's at 10 p.m. and notthing for teens to do you are on vacation you dont want to go to bed so early on vacation the water park was also a joke because the pool was shut down and we could not even swim and they did'nt tell us when we paid then the lazy pool was 2 feet deep and when you hold your kid then your knee's scrap on the ground.

To say our room was terrible is a vast understatement. We requested a lake view and were given a condo. The paint was peeling off the stairs as we descended them to the room. The room itself was furnished in early garage sale. The king bed was covered with a bedspread circa 1980. I mean the orange and green version in a rayon type fabric. ...

The entire resort smells musty, It's dark and dingy and old. The room we stayed in the floor actually had waves in it, it was not flat anywhere in the room. Getting to the restaurants is awkward and you have to go down a LOT of stairs. Not a good set up at all.

The only redeeming factor for the resort was the view of the lake, other than that it was the WORST hotel ever.

Celebrating 35th anniversary. Asked for room with lake view. $130. So close to shore was view of Marina. Room was awful! Can't believe they are still using it for guests. So Disappointed! Assigned to section F. Musty smell, poorly lit hallway, Bathroom ceiling tiles stained, tub stained with rust and mildew. Dark Rust stains on Door ...

Relaxing and delightful but we are now taking our Ecoquest airpurifier to our room yearly because of previous smokers and the way rooms get on the lake. Otherwise we look forward to the getaway yearly, wish the grandkids were here.
