Do not bother staying there

My room had a horrible smell to it - like puke. The carpets had stains on them and were very old. The bathroom towels were old and ripped. My room was next to the service quaters which included doors slamming at all hours and loud noises. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone to stay. It is too bad because 42 North had good food and the service in there was excellent.
Rooms have an amazing view of the Detroit River and Canada. There was live entertainment on the riverfront and several nice resturants located within the hotel.
I enjoyed the meals and service provided by the staff and I can't wait to go again.
I was at the Detroit Marriott for several days during a conference in early 2008. The conference rate for the rooms was not at all expensive, and the rooms were quite nice. My room on the 21st floor had a great view of the river and the bridge leading into Windsor, Canada. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was clean and well ...
I first visited this hotel this past summer. I loved the nice cozy setting of the room. The service was excellent from the valet parking to the housekeeping. Clean Rooms and Great Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/04/07
The hotel was under construction during my visit. I could hear the vibration from the drilling through the walls in my room. I called the front desk to switch my room and was quickly taken care of. When I called I was given a new room number and when i got to the front desk the new room number was already saved in the system. I didn;t have to go through the task of finding the woman that I spoke to earlier.
While I was in Detroit only a very short 4 days on business, I was immensely impressed with this hotel. Due to an overbooking issue, I was upgraded to a deluxe suite and was overwhelmed by the view of the Detroit River through floor-to-ceiling windows. All my needs were met, room service was perfect. While I don't expect to be returning to Detroit, if I did I would aspire to return to these accommodations!

Getting a room facing the water is an awesome experience. It has a very gorgeous view in the evening. If you just needed to get away and just wanted to relax I would recommend this.
