I recently stayed at this hotel during the Essence Festival of 2009.. (July 2 thru 5). This was not my first choice, but due to the late reservations, it was the closest hotel to the French Quarters that wasn't booked or a fortune. When I came to the hotel, the rooms were on the outside which I hate!!!! But, once I got into my room, it was ...

It was great

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Westbank and really enjoyed our stay. We saved gas! The hotel has a free shuttle to the ferry and that puts you right in down town. We also had free parking! That saved a bunch. They had a breakfast buffet every day and the kids ate free. The pool was beautiful and large and really refreshing after a long day in the ...

The front desk clerk was very prompt and efficient. The room was spotless. The breakfast doughnuts and orange juice were fresh. The bed pillows were unusually comfortable. Everyone was friendly.

I was disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/05
The bed linen were not completely placed on the bed; the pillows were flat as pancakes, the drapes were not fitted to the window, therefore, you had a gap where people could walk by your room and peer into the room. Lastly, I had to call for towels because the room did not have any towels. I will try to find a better hotel for my next visit.

What hotel?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/11/05
I think they would not go broke if they supplied more than 1/2 teaspoon of sugar to go with the coffee pot. No data port available. No laundry bag. No BATHTUB ??? Few electrical outlets available, and most were filled. Noisy location, needs more sound proofing. But after all these improvements it wouldn't be the cheapest room in the New Orleans area now would it?
Stayed here with the Military What a dump (and I am not real picky) probably one of the worst holiday Inns ever... The only positive was location. Room was ok, when you turned on AC/Heat smelled like dirty feet. Hairdryer blew up on me, I left a note for the maid to have it replaced. Was it? NOPE.. Maybe they dont read, who knows... The Free ...
