I had the pleasure of attending a business meeting at the Hotel Allegro. It very dark and inviting. The beaded candle holders on the tables in the Lobby create a cozy sexy atmosphere. I love the decor of this place. The free glasses of bubbles warmed me as well. Its a wonderful spot to meet someone for quiet conversations and adventures later. The service is great as well. I felt very much at home. .
I am from a suburb close by and like to stay here when I want to get away for a weekend. The King Suite with the two person jacuzzi tubs are the best. These suites have a large separate living room area with frig, cd player, tv, sleeper sofa etc. The cost is moderate considering some of the other jacuzzi suites in the downtown area. In the evening there is a free wine reception for the guests.

A 5 star experience

I loved the location, theater district, the room and room service. Many people brought their dogs, very well behaved and last of all each evening is a manager's reception. I would return again and again.

A hotel with character
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/27/05
The Allegro Hotel is a unique art deco style hotel with character. Located in the theatre district, it's close to the heart of the city. The rooms are small but cozy and well maintained. I stayed there during a convention and the group rates were quite reasonable. Both the food and service were wonderful.
Likes: services (need anything they will get it for you) Bedding - colorful, careful and oh so comfortable Shower - one of the best hotel showers
Dislikes: location - far from shopping it is in the finacial dist. Bathroom - small

Best stay so far in 8 years
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
The location for shopping and eating is the greatest. The price was great for what you received and the location included. The beds were so comfortable that you didn't want to get out even to go SHOPPING...Having the bar attached was nice, we didn't have to venture out in the "big" city. Everything was close.

This is in the heart of the Theatre district in Chicago. I had my 1st wedding anniversary there 5 years ago. Plenty to see & do around there. The room was excellent.
Our room was totally charming with interesting decor and updated ameneties. The staff was helpful and friendly. It's within easy walking distance of lots of shopping and theaters. I'm hoping to go back soon!
