The beds are hard as rocks and old, rooms need upgrading, no internet. Good location, but that's about it. Needs total overhaul. Towels are thin and frayed.
If you aren't fussy and want to save money, it is the best location. However, I am going down there next month with my husband and we booked something nicer. I stayed there with my grown daughter and we had a good sense of humor and laughed about everything, but I can see why some people would be very upset. Bring a can of lysol spray and a ...

The place can't be beat for its price. It isn't fancy, but it is cute and nice. I would never go to st augustine again and stay anywhere else.

It was difficult to contact a front service person but overall it was good being close to historical areas, the beaches, and other attractions and restaurants.

Bed Bugs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/04/07
Please read reviews of this place in the most recent to the oldest. Something must have happened or it was sold. It was filthy, disgusting, and had bugs all over the room. It wasn't even that cheap! We are looking again this summer, but NOT here.
I've read other reviews here and can't help thinking they cannot POSSIBLY be talking about the same place me, my fiance' and our friends stayed in June! The desk staff was not at all friendly or helpful. Even at a fraction of the cost of other more pricey hotels this place was a disappointment! We brought in an air freshner because the ...

Doesn't get much better
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/02/06
I loved this little place. Dennys on one side for an inexpensive breakfast, walk to St George, The Fountain Of Youth and Castillo de San Marcos. The old oak in the yard? extremely cool, ask your friendly hotel staff about it's history, deffinately one of the reasons I like to stay there. inexpensive, simple, perfect for a vacation on a budget.

Our Romantic Get-Away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/06
My wife of 13 years and I spent our first weekend together in this quaint little hotel. We were both single parents and while we were dating, decided to have a weekend together without the kids (seven of them all together). We have since spent each and every one of our anniversaries here. Our now grown children come with us sometimes and get ...

Stay here all the time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/28/05
A very relaxing place to stay. Staff friendly. Far away from the hustle and bustle. Close enough to walk to the Historic District.
The price is reasonable, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The old Oak in the courtyard is really cool.
We stay here every time we come to St. Augustine, have done so for many years now.

Our absolute favorite hotel...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/09/05
We love this quaint little hotel. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. This is our favorite place to stay in St Augustine. We've stayed on the beach and in other more pricey hotels but why spend the money when you can have it all at a fraction of the price...nice rooms, friendly staff, great location, convenient to attractions, great shopping/dining and very reasonable prices. Some of our favorite memories are of this little hotel.
