We have been to the DC area 5 times in the past 3 years. We recently visited to see the beautiful cherry blossoms. We stayed 2 nights. April 2nd-4th. This was our third visit to the Kalorama House in Woodley Park. It's as close as you'll get to actually being at home. Great comfortable place to stay. Highly convenient as Metro station is ...
We had a wonderful week in DC and what topped it off was where we stayed. Great location and a beautiful guesthouse. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend staying at this guesthouse.
Well located, and the staff is great. I stay there whenever I'm in DC on business. I would highly recommend it as an alternative to over-priced hotels in the area.
So my husband hates B&Bs but I heard about this great find from a friend of ours and had to try it out. It was not only a great bargain $109 but a perfect stay. We stayed upstairs in a Queen room with private bath and sitting area. The staff was incredibly helpful with local recommendations and directions. They even allowed us to store our luggage and come back by and "clean up" before our evening flight. I give it two thumbs up!!
I've stayed at the Kalorama in Woodley Park 4 times over the last eight years and recommend it unqualifiedly. It's only a couple blocks to the Metro, so I haven't had to worry about a car either on the occasions when I came in by train. This is a beautiful part of Washington, with lovely walks.
While I wouldn't say this is the nicest Inn/B&B in town, it does offer a good value. For $85 I got a small, clean room with a comfortable bed, a clean bathroom, and a porch which was a nice touch. I have also stayed in the rooms on the lower level which are cheap, $50/night, but are clean though I recomend getting an upper floor room. The bed was less comfortable in the lower level room.
