This inn represents the ultimate in inconsistency. While the pool and breakfast were superb, the room was so awful I wouldn't go back. They have two heated pools, one in a lovely setting. The rooms were extremely noisy, either someone walking above or the noisy A/C units. Our shower stopped working one night and the A/C unit above our unit woke us up in the middle of the night. The service was good and the staff responsive. I would definitely stay here again. There are restaurants, gas stations and drug stores handy within a block.

Santa Barbara hotels are extremely overpriced and this one is no different. However, the rooms are clean and there are 3 pools. Also you get continental breakfast with the rate. Beats some of the flea bags on the beach.

What a truly splendid place!! The staff and experience that myself and my wife and 13yr old son had the priviledge to enjoy was the epitome of all that is good about the USA.

Overall staying in Santa Barbara was excellent, The Sandmann Inn was ok but the only thing that wasn't ok was hte price. I think it is a little too much to stay there, for just being a basic hotel. Everything was nice, the service and etc. but the only thing the hotel was plain and simple and for my family and I to pay, I believe it was about $130 a night was a little to much for just a basic room.

we have been visiting santa barbara from England for 15yrs,couldn't believe the deal we got at the sandman, great value for money.Rooms were spotless, service good. the pool and spa were a real 'oasis' at the end of busy sightseeing days in the area. Complimentary breakfast quite varied and plentiful.We will definately be returning to the Sandman in Spring 2006.Can't wait!
