I was not expecting alot because of the cost. It was within my budget but figured I would just have to deal with less quality. But I was pleasantly surprised. Very friendly staff, clean room with refrig and microwave. The bed was very comfortable and it was surprisingly quiet being so close to main streets. I am planning to visit every year that I can. I am already thinking of my next visit. Solvang it also a great place to just RELAX.

my family has been going to the Svendsgaards Danish Lodge since 1965. It it the most wonderful place. i have taken my children and my grandchildren. I have never been disappointed.

My wife and I went on a midweek day. This was the best value we found in town. It wasn't as crowded and the staff were very friendly. We sleep-in so we missed the continental breakfeast but that was fine by us because many restaurants are in walking distance from the Lodge. We didn't have to fight downtown traffic leaving the Hotel either. My recomendation, Two thumbs up.

Though the room interiors look like they were last redone in the 80's (picture Danish 80's rather than "Danish Modern"), nevertheless, I still would highly recommend this lodging. Do yourself a favor though and go to their "America's Best Value Inn & Suites" corporate website and enroll online for their free ...

We loved how friendly and helpful everybody is! We come to Solvang at least twice a year and would hesitate to stay anywhere else.

The rooms are cute and make us feel like we are a guest in a friends home.

Great room with comfortable beds, large clean bathroom. Plenty of closet space. Nice pool and grounds. Good front desk service and great free breakfast. A great place for the kids.

the room was large and airy, the access to the pool from the room was direct with a sliding glass door! First time I have been in a hotel with 2 access doors... the bathroom was a bit small...but overall..we loved it.

It was a nice place at the time. Went there in 1997 and it was a good value at the time and in a good location.

I try to get to Solvang at least once a year... I always stay at Svengaards. It is clean, friendly and located in the heart of the town. Walking distance to everything... Very reasonably priced!
