My husband & I loved our room, it was very romantic. Loved the decor. It was very homey & quite. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was so clean. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area. I do wish the Coachman Inn wasn't in such a crowded neighborbood, that is my only complaint.
Me and my daughter traveled from San Francisco to San Diego and visited lots of nice hotels but Coachmans Inn,Carmel is the one We will remember. It was just wonderful and give a feeling of being home which is nice when you are far from your own place. Our room was like welcoming arms after a "hard shoppingday" and let us relax before ...
We have been going to the Coachman for years, our granddaughter's first choice to spend her birthday weekend is there and she is 18 now. The management treats us like family and we consider them the same. We have never been disappointed and plan many more trips there. It is a perfect location to stay when visiting Carmel by the Sea. Just a few ...
Our second best place on our trip. While not as nice as Vagabond it was still a nice place. Only complaints were breakfast, although delivered promptly and courteously it was subpar. Second complaint was having the windows open (no a/c) one could hear the street noise of both pedestrians and trucks. Outside of putting an a/c in every room this is something the hotel can't control.

Time will tell the true tale

This place used to be one of the greatest little hidden secrets in NorCal. My family went there when I was a kid, and their was the neatest woman who was always there (can't remember her name). BUT, In college, my friends and I would long to escape the dorms and I'd call down, tell the woman my last name and she'd always hook me up with ...

My wife and I,( and our dog!), stay at this "English Theme"property several time a year. The rooms are extremely comfortable, completely redecorated last 2 years, gas fireplaces in most rooms, microwaves, etc. Very pleasant staff.
I reccommend this property to all my friends.

What a Delight!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/14/05
While on a cross country trip last summer, my friends and I needed a reasonable place to stay with short notice. We found the Coachman's Inn and loved it! The staff was pleasent and the room was great! I think we paid just over $100 for one room with two queen size beds and a fire place. The breakfast was great too! I can't wait to go back some day.

Broken Promise/Unprofessional
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/03/05
I bought a stay at this property for my mom's birthday and although I booked (and paid for it) way in advance I never received the gift certificate, map with directions or brochure that I was promised. When it was time for me to tell my mother about her present, I had nothing to give her or show her. It was weird to have to go online and point to what was coming to her...it seemed as if I had made it up.
I was thoroughly dissapointed with this property. The web page is very deceiving. The rooms are some what updated yet plain. Unfortunately, the front desk staff and management are very unprofessional and very crass. For the price we paid, one would be expecting something better than a less than par frozen muffin and carton of oj for breakfast. ...

What a gem!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/11/04
As a first time visitor to California, a friend and I travelled the areas outside San Francisco to enjoy the beautiful scenery and ocean views. We stopped at the welcome center in Monterey and overheard the clerk explaining special rates available in the area. We zeroed in on the Coachman's Inn, called them and got an unbelievable low rate on ...
