Room booking was cancelled two weeks in advance of travel yet charge was made to credit card. Written to Best Western, cc to all conceivable email address given on their different websites and yet no response. Not from any of those email addresses given. Worst, their representative booking agents are also ignoring request for refund.

Just plain irresponsible attitude. Will definitely not use this chain.

I had a miserable night in this hotel! I stayed one night in the middle of a heat wave. They have no air conditioning which I did not know and which they did not disclose any of the 3 times I spoke to them the day I checked in. My room was on the street side, cars, motorcycles, radios blaring, but I had no choice but to leave the window open or die of the heat. I would never go back.

Nice hotel. Walking distance to Sterns Wharf and lower State Street. Room was clean and spacey, although the bathroom was a bit on the small side (lack of counter space). A bit pricey, but most hotels within walking distance to the ocean are. I would recommend this hotel to friends.

The hotel is extremely outdated and lower in quality for the price. You could hear people talking and the water in the bathroom in the next room. Very loud. We had a 1-bedroom suite for the 3 of us. The carpets were stained, the bathroom dirty and the toilet seat wasn't even attached! There was water damage to the "menu" and "guest services" brochures.

Really enjoyed our stay. We were here for 5 nights while my daughter was visiting Santa Barbara City College and looking for a place to live in the neighborhood. She could walk to all her appointments on campus and I enjoyed the beach access, and an easy walk to State Street shopping. Frig and microwave in the room made it easy to eat inexpensively. I would gladly come back.
