This is a great hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. Very clean attractive room, nice location and easy access to everything. They put together a nice golf package for us. This is our 4th stay at The Alamar and is has been consistantly great. We will be back.

This is a little gem of a hotel. Beautiful, great staff- very attentive and helpful with recommendations for things to do and restraurants. They referred us to a fabulous italian restraurant . Even made the reservations for us.

We stumbled upon the Alamar at 9:30 one night after driving for 10 hrs. to get to Virginia Beach. Location is great. Near the boardwalk and shopping. The decor is in the 80s. Dark colors and wall paper. The bathrooms were updated. The kitchenette was stocked with everything needed to cook with. There was a furnace in one of the closets with a hole in that wall. All in all, the price was right, and they supplied clean white towels daily. We were told not to leave make-up on the towels or wash cloths or they would have to charge extra.

Upon arrival at approx. 3:30 p.m. there was no one there to check in. The office doors were locked. There was a group of us waiting to register. It was fortunate that we did have to wait. I Read several reviews before my trip and most of them were right on. The staff, rooms, pool, etc. are nice and a good value for the money. Very quite and secure location.
