I've been to the Plaza for times before and after renovation. I'm going back in a week and I must say I do perfer it now yes you have lost a bit of the charm but the food its much better now and there are alot less spring breakers there. The location is perfect you can walk to everything and really experience the charm that is Cozumel. The ...

Why ruin a great place w/ all-inclusive???
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/07
The former Plaza Las Glorias was the best hotel in Cozumel for location AND ammenities. Not a posh place but nice, clean, pleasant staff, good dive shop and restaurants and a great location..the best..for walking to town and not needing a rental or taxi. This was the only 3 star of higher hotel that was reasonably close to San Miguel. But ...

WE WILL BE BACK!

This place is amazing! The pictures of the rooms are really true to life. Anything you want here you can get, and the staff is so friendly and very eager to get it for you. We ate at each one of the restuarants, more than once, and only disliked our food one time. All the food is fabulous, and the presentation of the food is breathtaking. ...

Split Decision
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/20/06
Generally, the PLG was a nice place. When we went (for 7 days) there was some serious renovation going on (pre-Wilma) which had not been disclosed when we booked the room. The room was over the restaurants exhaust so the noise and smell sort of nixed quiet use of the great balcony. The view from the room is awesome (right on the beach) and the ...

PLG is now a different resort!
By Challis, 08/27/05
Plaza Las Glorias does not exist anymore! Well, not under that name. The hotel that locals used to be able to walk in and have ocean access and a pool with bar and resturant is now an all inclusive resort. The new resort, Cozumel Palace, is all newly furnished and went thru extensive remodeling. It is now open to the public, and everyone who has been is highly impressed with the property. I can't wait to find out for myself!

I am going back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/13/05
The rooms were adequate. The service was great. The dive shop is excellent. The supermarket across the street is a great plus. We love eating in the local restaurants and do not like hotel restaurants anywhere. This hotel made the local restaurants accessible. I am defientely going back.

Location, location, location!

While comfortable, the over all feeling of the room is that of a Hotel 6. Our room had an excellent veiw with a balcany which for me was more important than the comfort.
Beware! Both myself and the guests next door had items stolen out of our rooms. If in doubt leave valuables at the front desk or take it with you.
In all I would come back just because the location and price was good.

I thought the place was great and the people were helpful and nice. I also like that it is close to town if you want to go downtown for nightlife.

Good Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/26/04
This was my second trip to Cozumel and with a bit of experience decided that it would be better to be closer to town than the last trip. Most of the "resorts" are far from town and unless you do all inclusive and don`t want to leave to see any of the culture and charm of the island it ends up costing a lot in taxi fare. Plaza las Glorias was right ...
