My wife and I just returned from our first ever trip to Cancun. While there we spent 8 days and 7 luxurious nights at the Gran Melia. Everything ,and I mean everything was marvelous. From the cleanliness of the room to the extremely courteous staff we couldn't have asked for more. We were not on an ALL INCLUSIVE plan so I can not speak to that ...
The rooms are clean. Hotel (building) is nice. Bed uncomfortable. Did NOT do all inclusive and very happy about that. Ate at most of the restaurants in the hotel. The food is TERRIBLE!!!! Nachos are better at a baseball stadium. These were the fake cheese spread with jarred jalapenos. Poached eggs for breakfast were (if you can believe it) ...

I bought a timeshare here 10 years ago. It was fantastic, beautiful the beaches and water were superb. My daughter went two years ago same thing. Restaurants were wonderful and a lot of them. We went back this year. We didn't get to stay in the one bedroom unit we purchased instead it was a regular hotel room which I stayed in even though ...
My wife and I stayed in the Royal Service for a week and were sad to leave in the end. Upon check-in you are brought by a Royal Service member to Atrium 5 for a private check-in. Everything is taken care of, and drinks and snacks are complimentary most of the day. The grounds were beautiful, even when it unfortunately rained. One of our ...
We got a room with a view and it was great! We had a great view of the ever-blue, post-card-ish ocean. The hotel has a private beach which you can walk to, just steps away. If you do stay here, go all-inclusive as the hotel restaurants are rather expensive. An economical alternative is to dine out in the city(shopping centers- the Shrimp Bucket, ...
To begin cancun mexico is one of the most amaizing places in the in the western hemisphere i have ever been to. when you arrive to the Gran Melia Resort the loby is like the Galleria Mall in Houston, TX. the service is ok, but they have a tendency to overbook their rooms. We were stayed in the lobby for about 2 hours and we were about to explode. ...

This place was horrible, sure the hotel is very nice looking, but it leaks very bad, our bathroom leaked all over the sinks and all over our toiletries, after several attempts from the non english speaking maitenence staff the leak was not fixed and we changed rooms, our second room was smaller but had a bigger balcony, the sliding doors leading to ...
This was my first trip to Cancun. After hearing wonderful things about Mexico, we decided to go for our one year anniversary. Right now there is a lot of construction on almost every hotel from the hurricane damage they recieved. The Gran Melia had very little damage, but there were workers pounding hammers at all times of the day. When it ...

Great Hotel and beautiful beach
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/04/06
Rooms are huge and updated...great value for $115/night on lagoon side. Resturants were expensive at hotel but you can go to Pizza Hut or McDonalds across the street for a little cheaper food although it is higher than USA. When you check in get a MAS card and you can get free meals (BOGO) and late check out. You might check their meal plan...it ...
