Location, location, location. And, a great staff to make one feel at home in a hotel setting. Plus, good food and nicely appointed rooms. The bar is cozy and the beds are great. A very nice place for native Californians.

1st of all, location is awesome... food is awesome, dinner at plump jack was just great... room was very nice, roomy and clean... but there is no air conditioning and the fans just blow hot air around the room. I would never recommend someone to stay there during non-winter periods and I would never stay there until they get air conditioning in rooms.

We stayed at Plump Jack Squaw Valley Inn for three days in July. There's no AC, so the room was a bit warm for our comfort level, although there was a fan in the room to provide air movement.
