The place was fairly clean, long distance phone service did not work, and heat would not turn on. It took until the 3rd room to get one where most everything worked. They would not give refund when I ask, I wanted to go over to the Super 8 beside it because that is where I had to go to use the phone. The lounge was not open in the 4 nights I was there.
I know it's late but back in 2002 my husband and I got caught in a blizzard trying to drive across the state and the only hotel with opennings was the 1st Inn Gold. We were shocked at several things:
1) Pleasant service 2) Cheap rates 3) Very clean 4) Great food w/good margaritas 5) An extremely comfortable bed
We were so pleased with this hotel that we're trying to plan our trip back to TN so that we can stay there again.
We will not be staying at this hotel again. The staff was incredibly lethargic, and we even caught one of the desk clerks falling asleep during their shift. There was garbage on the floor upon our first entrance into our room. We also found popcorn and candy peices under the bed. Cleaning service was only given one of the three days we stayed, and there were rings of dust around the entire room. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone!
The room was clean and quiet and the continental breakfast was ok. The price was fair. The people working there were very nice and happy to give directions. At the time I was there, the hotel was full of railroad construction workers rebuilding a nearby line, but either they were tired or quiet because I never heard a thing. A good place to stay, very convenient to Interstate 80 and Highway 280.
This hotel is a good choice. Not the most updated rooms but has everything you need. Eaten at the mexican resturant located at this hotel many times. THe best "real" mexican food outside of Mexico (and I have tried many places in my travel).
