I have stayed here 3 times now with my family, and all 3 times were good experiences. Obviously it's no Ritz-Carlton, but I have always found it to be very clean and really convenient, with a surprising amount of amenities for a $50 a night motel. I would agree with the users that said the fixtures are a little dated, but everything works ...

excellent family hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/07
this hotel was the best part of our vacation. the managment was very good. the rooms have been redone and they are spotless. the bad reviews are from customers who obviously caused kaos while they were staying there. the managment will not tolerate any noise or damage while you stay there. the people who are living there are not out on the street because of the manager! the pool is beautiful!!!!

The most filthy hotel on the planet?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/09/06
The rooms are filthy! We tried three different rooms because the sheets were dirty with hairs in the first two, and in the third room there was "crust" on the sheet. The garbage wasnt taken out, there were burn marks on the floor and it smelled terribly of cigarettes and sweat. It was filthy and the management was not apologetic about ...

Run now!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/28/06
It was absolutely filthy, smelled like mildew. There were some very iffy looking, loud people staying there, kids screaming. Horrible. We left after one look at the room--and they charged us anyway!! Others were leaving--we were practically running to our cars. I'd rather take my chances with Norman Bates!

Never Again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/06
We went with another couple on a Saturday afternoon. We waited about 10 minutes for someone to come to the office to check us in. We found it expensive for not being close to the beach, but we needed a place to stay. Rented 2 rooms. They were beyond terrible! The ceiling, bedding, and even lampshades were water stained. The smell was awful and the ...

should have believed the poor reviews
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/06
Location, location, location. Being conveniently located on Rt. 1 kept us close enough to the Beach, Watch Hill, Naragansett, Newport, stores and restaurants so that we were able to stay out of the room as much as possible. The staff was nice enough, the pool was nice enough and we enjoyed the morning coffee and donuts in the lobby, but once ...

This was the most disgusting hotel I have ever seen. Kind of a trailer park motif with dirty rooms (the "hair in bed" comments from other reviewers was very true!) Truly awful. We brought in beach towels from our car to sleep on because the beds were too grosss -- then we left at dawn. REALLY BAD!

right when i opened the door to my room, i knew that it would not be a good stay because an old dirty cat ran out of the room when i opened it. there was stains all over the wall and hair in the beds. my buddy also found needles between the matresses. i couldnt tell u how the pool was because i didnt want to find out. all i know is that when i checked out, i felt like one of the most dirty people in westerly.

No way
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/07/06
Very good location. Maybe if a developer moved in! - demolish it and started again! Booked 6 nights for family of 2 adults and 3 children. Left after 4, couldn't stick it. No hope of any refund. Dirrty, shabby, old. Very very little choice of accommodation in the whole area - there is an Indian casino/hotel about an hour north that might ...

Convenience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/05
My experience at the Blue Star was pleasant. The pool was very nice and open late for the kids. The location was very convenient to shopping, beach and Foxwoods. The rooms were a little tired and could use some new mattress', but clean. The carpets were dirty and curtains were old and torn. The bathroom shower curtain needed to be ...
