The front desk girl was very funny. She knows jokes and makes you feel at home. I love the fireplace. The fire was easy to light because the kindling was very dry. I drank wine and looked at the ocean on my balcony and had a great time. It was great to have no traffic, no smog and few people on the beach. There was also a very good seafood restaurant about a block from the hotel.
This is a beautiful location, if the owners weren't so rude, nasty, and mean. Never will I stay here again. 15 years been coming to the coast. Don't waste your money here. You will be losing a lot of customers, if you don't change your attitudes. Very poor customer service!!!!!!!!!

We went to Irelands for years. We would reserve a specific cabin and two years in a row we showed up and they had us in different room. We haven't been back.

Without question the worst place I have ever stayed.
Dirty, smelly, not so much rustic as drab and shabby.
They make you pay up front and then dock you with their 24 hour cancellation policy so you don't get your money back when you see how rotten the cabins are.

Very over priced

We have been staying here for years. The previous owner was very fair with their pricing. Now it is ridiculous. I can not believe with the economy being the way it is, they have almost tripled their prices.

Great place to go with dogs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/17/07
We've stayed here 3 times now. The decor is a little too 'country' for my taste and shabby around the edges, but the location is spectacular. Most importantly they're dog lovers. You can walk your dogs right down to the beach from the room. Gold Beach is also a bit shabby, but the people are friendly and it's never busy. Where ...
We stayed at 5 different hotels during a drive down the OR/CA coast. This was the worst stop - we rented one of the cabins & I was hoping for rustic but cozy. What I recieved was dated & uncomfortable. The bed was terrible & the lazy boy chair in the unit was not sturdy & fell over on my 3-year old while my husband was leaning ...

Wonderful getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/04/07
We rented the Nantucket House for a week - it overlooked the RV Park and the mini-light house. The kitchen was a joy - we cooked breakfast and dinner and sat watching the ocean in all its moods. Walk to the beach was easy and we got to pick fresh blackberries. Loved painting stones, which are in abundance - you can get the paint at the craft ...

Made our trip that much more enjoyable!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/22/07
This place is the best place to stay at. The rooms have wood-burning fireplaces that are re-stocked every day. We stayed in the Pacific Breeze building that allowed smoking (big plus), 2 extremely comfortable lounge chairs, and had a balcony that you could see and hear the ocean from. There was also easy access to the beach. The staff was ...

Rude, Ugly, dishonest and dumb
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/04/06
Rude. Incompetent. Would not honor our gift certificate. Would not resolve the matter.
Simply, the worst hotel on the Coast.
Any coast.
Makes one hope for global warming to raise ocean levels just a teeeeeeeny bit more.
