Its true the chippewa is no more. We loved staying in the cabins. We have been stating in the chippewa twice a year for 18 years. The good news is that the Waterfront hotel is still open. It is owned and run by the same great people that had the Chippewa. Give the Waterfront a try, its an awsome place to stay. After all its the people that run the ...

Simple Pleasures-Anniversary Getaway!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/07
My husband and I just returned home from a short trip to Mackinaw City for our 26th Anniversary. We found the Chippewa Motor Lodge on-line and reserved a cottage for the night. We really didn't expect a lot since the price was so low- only $32.00 for one night in a cottage. What a nice surprise for us- we did save money, but the cute little ...

We stayed in a family cabin (2 BR), which was neat and very comfortable. The only negative aspect was the restroom, which was pretty small. Other than that, everything was great. Home-made muffins were tasty (they had many varieties). Will certainly stay here the next time we are in the area.
We rented 2 private cabins for 2 nights 6-30 and 7-1 2007. The cabins offer a different type of experience that you don't get in a regular motel or hotel room. They really do have a "cabin-like" feel to them. It's not something that you normally see and we wanted to spend our vacation a little different. We arrived several hrs ...
This place was so dirty and the employees are very rude. I've traveled all over the US and this was by far the worst place I have ever stayed at. You're sure to leave here with something you didn't come with.
about 10 years ago we started going there, at the time the lady who owns it took care of us, since she stepped back and her son took over there is a different level of care. Be carefull not to wear silver jewelry in the pools, they will ruin from the chemicals. Also the breakfast is muffins and o.j/coffee, good the first day, but, by day two your gonna want something hot.

Staying on the beach...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/11/06
We went on an "extended family" outing & everyone loved it there! When I learned we were "staying on the beach", I just knew it was going to be a "young people" thing. Wrong! It was great! There was something for everyone-young & old! We strolled the beach early, late & in between, & only encountered ...

We came up with Night to Remember (2005) and are coming back for the event in 2006! The hotel was clean, and the service was friendly and helpful. Plus it is close to the island and the downtown area too
