dirty carpets, nasty management, flies in the rooms were an evening task for 2 hours!! housekeeping smoking outside of your room that entered your nearly broken down air conditioner. 2 thumbs down!
The phone, the ice machine, and the internet were not working. The continental breakfast was a joke. The manager acosted my daughter in the parking lot because he thought she was from a room that had checked out early. They don't have good customer service or management skills.

Very Pleased

Me and my family stayed here after we went to another place we had reserved and we were not pleased. The receptionist here was extremely helpful with helping us around the island. I found the rooms to be pretty clean. One of the rooms we booked had a strong smell of cleaning products. Me and my husband found the beds to be very comfortable unlike most hotel beds that you stay. All in all we were pleased with our stay.

My Road Buddy and I have stayed in some real dives. Nothing chills my blood like the word "motel", so when we decided on The Birchwood as our base on a trip to Chincoteague, VA, I was skeptical (especially because their website says "biker friendly". But my what a pleasant surprise!. The place is cute, sporting every kind ...

A pleasant surprise!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/13/05
The Birchwood was a pleasant surprise after finding our regular spot already booked up. Although the location was convenient it seemed like we were tucked away somewhere more remote. The pool was inviting, the roses were glorious and we loved the screened in outdoor cooking areas where we made our own fresh seafood diners. Staff were very helpful ...
