The location was great, and from what we could tell from our stay in the area, it's one of the ony places to stay that are directly on the beach, and Long Beach is one of the few beaches in the area that is pretty much rock free. The price was great, and it accepted pets.

When I made reservations, I specifically mentioned there were four people in my party. They said it was not a problem. I expected two double beds. They forgot to mention that all rooms had one double bed and a fold away couch. When I complained they told me the only way to get two beds was to rent two rooms. Needless to say I got no sleep that night. Next time I go back to Gloucester, I’ll make other arrangements.

This was our 8th visit to cape ann motor inn. We go late in September. This is a great bargain. We get the efficiency room which contains a refridgerator ,sink and stove. OK . . . . If it was our anniversay or a special occasion, I would not pick this hotel to stay at. However, we go there for the ocean. Our children love playing in the sand and our dog loves running on the beach. We bring our own bed linens and it's not as bad as some of the reviews I'm reading.

If you are looking for a beach vacation for your family, this is the best. No worry about dragging sand into the rooms, enjoy your favorite beverage after 4 on the beach, and it's the best beach and view you'll find. If you're looking for 4 star, don't bother, if you love family and fun, and a friendly and helpful staff and like-family fellow guests, make this your vacation spot.
